UOP Associate Professor Kathy Peterson (PT, Ed.D.) will be speaking to the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club on the "Hope Haven Wheelchair Distribution" project for Rotary International, on Wednesday, September 4th, 7:00am at Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.

Hope Haven International collects and recycles wheelchairs, which are refurbished to nearly new condition by volunteers at nine wheelchair shops throughout the midwest.  Wheelchairs are then sent overseas and distributed in communities that have great need.
The Hope Haven International project is yet another excellent example of how Rotary International, the world's largest service club, caters not only to local needs at the Club Level, but International needs as well.
Dr. Peterson earned her bachelor of science from University of Iowa, her master's degree in physical therapy from Des Moines University and her doctor of education in organization and leadership from University of San Francisco. She has been with Pacific since 2002 and was recently named Fulbright Scholar to Malawi.
"It's so important for me to learn about people in different areas.", says Dr. Peterson on her UOP bio page.  "When I've been to a part of the world and I see those corners show up in the papers it gives me a personal connection. It makes me want to know more about life there and be supportive when it's not peaceful. I am a Rotarian and I enjoy the service through rotary. I enjoy the networking and the fellowship as well as the opportunities to serve local community in Stockton."
